Ty Henricks scores his Fourth goal in Lumberjacks shootout loss
Bryce McConnell-Barker had a secondary assist as his Soo Greyhounds needed overtime before defeating the Flint Firebirds 6-5 in OHL play. A better night for McConnell-Barker was a -1 on four shots while going 11-13 on his faceoffs.
McConnell-Barker improved to 4-6-10 after 14 games for the Greyhounds. He also got to watch his kid brother Brodie score his first ever OHL goal.
Ty Henricks recorded his fourth goal of the season but his Muskegon Lumberjacks fell to Rasmus Larsson’s Green Bay Gamblers in the shootout 6-5 in USHL play. Sorry folks, there is no video of Henrick’s goal but what can be said is Henricks improved to 4-2-6 after 10 games.
Henricks was Muskegon’s third line left wing for this game. Larsson who was scoreless in this one had gone without a goal in 10 straight games.
Hank Kempf recorded a primary assist as his 11th-ranked Cornell Big Red made it two straight wins over 12th-ranked Minnesota-Duluth 3-0 in non-conference play. The normally offensively challenged defenseman earned his assist on Cornell’s second goal of the game.
Kempf was 0-1-1 on one shot with a +1 as he earns his first point of the season.
Noah Laba had a secondary assist but his Colorado College Tigers saw their unbeaten streak stopped after a 4-3 non-conference loss to Augustana. Laba earned his assist on the Tigers first goal of the game to improve his season numbers to 2-3-5.
Laba was credited with four shots on the night and was a very good 15-6 on his faceoffs. The sophomore center is 2-3-5 on the season.
Jaroslav Chmelar saw his six-game scoring streak end as his eighth-ranked Providence Friars played to a 2-2 overtime tie with Vermont in Hockey East action. Vermont earned the extra point after winning the shootout in three rounds 1-0.
Chmelar was scoreless on three shots and missed on his shootout attempt. The sophomore right wing had started the season with a 4-5-9 mark which still leads the Friars in both scoring and goals.
Victor Mancini was scoreless as his Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks dropped their first game of the season 4-0 to 15th-ranked Ohio State in non-conference play. Mancini was credited with one shot on the night.
Maxim Barbashev was scoreless as his Shawinigan Cataractes defeated the Victoriaville Tigres 3-1 in QMJHL action. Barbashev was credited with three shots and four hits.
