A rather quiet night for the New York Rangers prospects as only half of the 12 were in action. Four will be in action on Monday when the finals and consolation games of the Beanpot Tournament will take place.

Rasmus Larsson and his Northern Michigan Wildcats have had a rough season as entering Saturday’s CCHA game with Lake Superior State with just four wins for the season. Make it five wins as the Wildcats held off the Lakers 3-2 to earn a split of the weekend series.

Larsson earned his third goal of the season (and in the last four games) got the Wildcats going when he snapped a wrist shot behind a well-placed screen. The even-strength goal tied the game at 1-1.

Larsson had gone 25 games without registering a single point improves to 3-0-3 on the only shot he took in the game was also a +1. Northern Michigan improves to 5-24-1 on the season.

Ty Henricks scored his third goal of the season as his fourth-ranked Western Michigan Broncos finished off their NCHC series with St. Cloud State with a 6-1 win. Henricks scored the third of three first period goals to put the Broncos up 3-0 as they earned the series sweep.

Henricks took four shots for the game as he improved to 3-4-7 on the season. The win enabled the Broncos to open up a three-point lead in the NCHC conference over Arizona State while holding two games in hand over the Sun Devils.

WMU is 9-1 in their last ten games as they will host Omaha next week before a weekend showdown with Arizona State in two weeks.

Raoul Boilard set up the game winning goal as his Baie-Comeau Drakkar held off the Saint John Sea Dogs 5-4 in QMJHL action. Boilard earned the primary assist on Louis-Charles Piourde’s power play goal at 9:15 capping off a four-goal comeback for the Drakkar.

Boilard was credited with one shot, a -1, a roughing minor and 6-8 on his faceoffs. The Drakkar center improves to 9-24-33 which ties him for second among Rangers prospects in scoring.

E. J. Emery did not score as his 16th-ranked North Dakota Fighting Hawks defeated Noah Laba’s Colorado College Tigers 3-1 to earn a split in the NCHC weekend series. Emery was scoreless for the 26th straight game while earning a Unsportsmanlike Conduct minor in the final minute of the game.

Laba was scoreless on three shots and 5-6 on his faceoffs. Neither team should be proud of their play in this game.

Hank Kempf scoreless with a tripping minor as his Cornell Big Red lost to Union 4-1 in ECAC play. Just another inconsistent performance by Cornell.

I was lucky enough to have been trained by former Boston Bruins GM Harry Sinden having completed the NHL GM and Scouting Course taught at Sports Management Worldwide as well as the late EJ McGuire who was the director of the NHL's Central Scouting Bureau and was the former coach of the AHL's Hartford Wolfpack
