Zakary Karpa Goes 17-3 on Harvard faceoffs in Win.

Zakary Karpa (Harvard Crimson)

It was a pretty ugly evening for the eight New York Rangers prospects who played on Friday evening. A total of three assists accounted for all of the offensive production from the prospects which is unacceptable. To give you an idea just how bad Friday night was, the featured Rangers prospect was Zakary Karpa and while he had one assist, it was going 17-3 on his faceoffs which why he was the top prospect.

Karpa did have an assist but it came on the final goal of the night as Karpas’ Harvard Crimson edged Brown 3-12 in ECAC/Ivy League hockey action. 17-3 on faceoffs  was just totally outstanding from the senior captain of the Crimson.

Karpa improved to 0-3- on the season after his assist on Harvard’s third goal which sealed the win for the Crimson.

For the first time since October 18th, 2024, Rasmus Larsson and his Northern Michigan Wildcats won a game as they shocked 12th-ranked Minnesota State 3-2 in CCHA play. The win ends a 17 game winless streak (0-16-1) as Larsson who was used as the second pair left defenseman.

Hank Kempf was scoreless as his 20th-ranked Cornell Big Red skated to a 1-1 overtime tie with Sacred Heart in non-conference play. Kempf was credited for three shots with a -1 as the third pair left defenseman.

Noah Laba had two assists but his 14th-ranked Colorado College Tigers dropped a 5-2 NCHC conference game to Nebraska-Omaha. Laba earned a primary assist on the Tigers first goal and a secondary assist on their second.

Laba was credited with four shots and 10-5 on his faceoffs. The junior center improved to 2-12-14 on the season which is tied for the team lead in scoring.

Gabe Perreault was scoreless as his second-ranked Boston College Screaming Eagles were embarrassed at home by Merrimack 5-2 in Hockey East play.  Perreault lead his team with five shots but was a -1 as Boston College let Merrimack to score five unanswered goals in this one.

E. J. Emery was scoreless on two shots as his North Dakota Fighting Hawks fell to 15th-ranked Arizona State in NCHC.

Brody Lamb was scoreless on one shot as his third-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers dropped a 5-1 Big Ten matchup with 11th-ranked Ohio State. Lamb was the third line right wing for the Gophers.

Nathan Aspinall was scoreless on two shots as his Flint Firebirds rallied from down 4-1 only to fall 6-4 to the Guelph Storm in OHL play. Too quiet a night for Aspinall as he has become more consistent.
