Not A Good Prospect Night

Brody Lamb (Minnesota Golden Gophers)

If you prefer not spending time reading about poor performances, then go ahead and skip the rest of this post. Friday night was not at all a productive one with just two assists total from the 12 prospects who saw action. It was even worse from a wins and losses night as the prospects saw their teams go a combined 3-7-1.

Brody Lamb was scoreless with just one shot as his sixth-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers defeated the 18th-ranked Penn State Nittany Lions in Big Ten play. Lamb has just one assist to show for his last five games.

Hank Kempf was on the third defensive pair going scoreless as his 16th-ranked Cornell Big Red defeated Colgate 4-2 in ECAC play. Kempf was credited with two shots and a +1.

Noah Laba was scoreless as his Colorado College Tigers skated to a 2-2 overtime tie with 13th-ranked Arizona State in non-conference play. Laba was credited with one shot as he went 12-7 on his faceoffs.

Gabe Perreault had a primary assist while teammate Drew Fortescue was scoreless as their top-ranked Boston College Eagles dropped a 5-3 Hockey East match to Northeastern. Perreault set up the Eagle’s second goal to improve his season totals to a team best 3-18-21.

Neither Perreault nor Fortescue registered a shot in this game, but Fortescue was called for cross-checking.

Maxim Barbashev had a secondary assist, but it wasn’t enough to prevent his Rimouski Oceanic from dropping a 6-3 game to the Gatineau Olympiques in QMJHL play. Barbashev has gone 2-3-5 since he was traded from Shawinigan on November 21st. Overall, he is 4-10-14 for the season, numbers that need major improvement if he wants to earn a Rangers Entry Level Contract.

Hugo Ollas gave up four goals while stopping 30 shots as his Merrimack Warriors were beaten 4-1 by the fifth-ranked Boston University Terriers in Hockey East action. Ollas just did not play sharp, and his positioning was poor as his season totals dropped to 3-4 with 2.75 goals against and a 0.910 save percentage.

If Ollas is entertaining thoughts about leaving school after this season, then it would be a better idea for him to stop those thoughts. His play just does not deserve an Entry Level Contract now.

Victor Mancini was scoreless on two shots as his Omaha Mavericks were beaten 4-2 in NCHC play by the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. Mancini was credited with two shots while going a -2.

Zakary Karpa was scoreless as his Harvard Crimson were shut out 3-0 by the Clarkson Golden Knights in ECAC play. Karpa was credited with three shots but was 7-9 on his faceoffs.

Bryce McConnell-Barker was scoreless on four shots as his Soo Greyhounds lost to the Saginaw Spirit in OHL action. McConnell-Barker was credited with going 14-9 on his faceoffs.

Rasmus Larsson was scoreless on one shot as his Green Bay Gamblers squeezed by the Tri-City Storm via the shootout in USHL action. Larsson saw a two-game scoring streak stopped and has not scored a goal in his last 19 games.

Ty Henricks did not record any stats in his Muskegon Lumberjacks 3-2 loss to the Youngston Phantoms in USHL play. Henricks has gone ten games without a goal and has just one assist in the same span.
